Rocky Environments

Debris cliffs and slopes are among the most spectacular and impressive environments of Dolomiti Bellunesi, and, in spite of their harsh and inhospitable appearance, are the habitat of many animal and vegetal species. They are not, however, exclusive of high altitudes. Valley bottoms too are characterized by overhanging walls and difficultly accessible gorges. Cliffs and debris house a characteristic flora of great value, including many species that have survived through the glacial periods.
