The Volunteer's Center in Agre is situated in an ancient medieval hospice in Val Cordevole, along the itinerary connecting northern Europe with the plain and the sea, busy for centuries with merchants and pilgrims. The hospice has been recently renovated and enhanced by Dolomiti Bellunesi National Park, that has also built a characteristic footbridge directly connecting it with the former SS Agordina Road.
The Volunteer's Centre can be considered the headquarters of all volunteer activities carried out in the Park: preparing Park-organised events; cleaning picnic areas, river banks or lake shores; giving information to tourists in specially sensitive areas, or areas that draw many visitors; maintaining the trails and green areas, in collaboration with local volunteer associations, too.
The Centre can be reached by a dirt road that is closed to traffic for safety reasons (rockfall danger).
