ACTION PLAN/ENVIRONMENTAL IMPROVMENT PROGRAMME

OBJECTIVES

To produce the Action Plan-Environmental Improvement Programme of wide area

ACTIONS
Methods: The action will be undertaken by Ambiente Italia in cooperation with PNDB and other partners. Meetings with the Community of the Park and the forum Agenda 21 will be organised in order to define the priority improvement areas, to identify objectives and targets, to specify and to share strategies and actions that could be activated and finalised to the improvement of the environment management of the territory.
At the same time opportunities for the implementation of the strategies designed will be investigated from the points of view of financial resources and partnerships (including both institutional and other partners).
The action will put at disposal the reference knowledge for the request of registration EMAS of the EMS of single bodies and of the whole area.
The interaction between AG21 and EMAS in this Task will consists in realise this process in coherence with EMAS standards and requisites, but on the basis of the work already done with Ag21, that has, at least in general terms, already defined main field of action, priorities, starting point for target definition, and has created the better basis (common language and shared commitment) for partnership set up.
Obiectives
The focus on the environment improvement targets for the area will be obtained starting from the results already acquired (even thought preliminarily) by Agenda 21 process since 2002. The aims and targets of EMAS will be defined also shaping new data collected within 2nd Report on the State of the Environment. The targets will be established in compliance with requirements of Reg. EMAS.
Actions
The set up of the action for the improvement of the environment will be obtained analysing the feasibility of all the activities, defining the time schedule and the resources and rules played by several actors. The actions will be defined keeping in mind also the reduction of emissions that have an influence on the climate and the promotion of good practices from the ethic/social point of view.
Actions will be planned also starting from the analysis of best practices undertaken in similar territories and by mean of meetings with partners and with forum Agenda 21.

CONSTRAINTS AND ASSUMPTIONS
The Action Plan – Environmental Improvement Programme must be available before July 2006 from the start of the project in order to sustain further steps of registration EMAS of wide area in time for the end of the project.
It is presumed that activities finalised to share the results of the report on environmental status and of the Action Plan will start before the Programme will be available in the final version in order to enable a continuous exchange of information among actors, improving their updating about project progresses.
