SETTELMENT OF THE MANAGMENT MODEL

OBJECTIVES

ACTIONS

5.1 Set up of the management model
The action will be carried out by Ambiente Italia in cooperation with PNDB. The action is finalised to understand the potential of integration among several instruments for the improvement of the environment and for sustainable development. Moreover it aims to define an application model of EMAS that consider opportunities of integration among several instruments and the model for the implementation of the Environment Management System on the base of considerations arisen from local actors.
The action will be realised by mean of analyses of the good practices, analyses of the instruments actually operating and of their potential in comparison with the general aim of the improvement of the environment. A workshop with experts and members of the EMAS Italy Board will be organised in order to study in depth the subject.
5.2 Writing of the guidelines
To stimulate the local actors, with the aim to involve them in the local EMAS process and to activate them in EMAS application to their own organisations, specific Guidelines will be prepared and utilised as a tool for training activities (see Task 2).
The results of the analyses carried out in task 5.1 and of the whole experience will be transferred into a Report that will represent the final product of the action and the instruments at disposal of other local districts in order to apply the model. The action will be undertaken by Ambiente Italia.

CONSTRAINTS AND ASSUMPTIONS
As the production of the guidelines is a consequence of the collection of data and information, their availability will constitute the first constraint for the success of the task. Because the sources of data/information haven’t to be sought only within the Park area, large freedom is given to the partners for the selection of the most suitable and effective examples to provide with the guidelines. Ambiente Italia will be charged of the production of the deliverable and will exploit its own experience in the fields of planning and analysis of environment and territory.
Guidelines must be realised at least 10 months before the end of the project, in time for their distribution by mean of the dissemination activities. Because the guidelines are not directly linked to the EMAS registration by local organisations, the time schedule is considered suitable in order to guarantee the dissemination of the final result of the task.
