Results

• Characterisation of a management and organisational model able to promote the registration EMAS within an area of high ecological value;
• Obtaining of the registration EMAS;
• Participation of the existing organisations in the process Agenda 21and adoption of methods for the management of the environment and ethic-social responsibility;
• Statement of the functions of a public body (the Park) as “agency for the sustainable development” in an area larger the its own boundaries (stimulation of the innovation, benchmarking, monitoring, assistance, report with bodies at higher level, etc.);
• Export of the model in other areas, particularly in the territories where important natural resources have to meet with human activities. The export will be facilitated in the areas managed by parks and other organisations included in the networks to which the Parco Nazionale Dolomiti Bellunesi belongs: “Rete Alpina delle Aree Protette” (includes partners from Italy, Austria, France, Germany, Liechtenstein, Slovenia and Switzerland), Federparchi (includes partners managing more than 300 protected areas in Italy) and Federazione Regionale Parchi del Veneto (regional institution).
