The Forgotten Mountain
Military Roads and Ancient Miners' Roads
Location: between Forcella Moschesin (Municipality of La Valle Agordina) and the former Mines of Vallalta near Gosaldo.
Access: access to the starting points of the different laps from La Valle Agordina, the Mines of Valle Imperina (SR 203 Agordina), from the road Agordo - F.lla Franche, from Gosaldo and from the SP road of Valle del Mis.
Altitude: min. 479 m, max 1,939 m.
Difference in height, length of the route, and walking time: varying according to the chosen route (there are many possible alternative routes from the main one).
Period: from
March to November.

Six laps, for a total of 40 kilometers, along routes built for military aims to get to the old mining sites of Valle Imperina and Vallalta. A journey across the Park, along its northern borders, looking for the lost ancient times. The route connects mining sites and small military buildings along old working trails and mule tracks, roads and galleries, all evoking experiences, events, and toil animating the past of these mountains.
