Scientific research is one of the statutory aims of a national park.
The Belluno Dolomites National Park honours this obligation and since it was set up has initiated a lengthy series of scientific studies covering the wildlife and environment together with historical, anthropological, economic and management aspects.
Together with research projects commissioned from researchers and university institutes, the Park’s archives also include the dissertations and theses of students who have studied this area.
To make the most of this asset, the Park has set up a two-yearly prize for the best dissertations and theses studying topics associated with the protected area.
