Wool processing chain
Seeing a flock pass by evokes an almost romantic image of a custom dictated by the seasons.
It makes me slow down and sometimes reflect on the behind-the-scenes of a life spent in contact with nature.
This reflection led me to want to enhance a small part of this reality, and that is how I began my journey of experimentation in working with one of the raw materials that, these days, for many reasons, is increasingly often thrown away: dirty wool.
The various stages of processing the fleece—washing, natural dyeing, carding—are carried out with the utmost respect for nature.
I then use the carded fiber for various traditional processes: felting, spinning, and weaving.
In a year of courses and experimentation, I have managed to try my hand at all these processes in the supply chain.
Working with this raw material puts me in deep connection with nature, as well as making me believe that I can, in my own small way, enhance the value of something as “taken for granted” as wool.
