One of the “classic” itineraries of the Park
From Passo Croce d’Aune (Street View 1 – video
) take the CAI path 801 (2
). The first part of the itinerary takes place inside the woods (3
), once you reach the departure of the old cableway service to the refuge (4
), now abandoned, you connect to the spectacular route of the old military road, that with a panoramic path (
) crosses, with wide hairpin bends (5
) (
), the rocky crags (360° photo).
From here you could follow the path that, with a constant slope, goes up to the refuge (6) or you could avoid the wide hairpin bends (
) by following the CAI path. The rocky walls and meadows that line the path are an authentic garden: this is one of the botanically richest areas of the Park. Once reached the refuge (7
) you could climb, in a few minutes, to the nearby Vette Grandi Pass (
), from which you could enjoy a spectacular panorama of the Busa delle Vette (8
–
e
): a large glacial circus surrounded by debris flows, which houses some of the botanical rarities of the Park such as the Alisso dell’Obir (
) and the Alpine Speronella (
).
Location: South-western slopes of the Vette Feltrine, in the Municipality of Sovramonte
Access: Once you reach the city of Feltre, follow the signs for Pedavena and, from here, go up to the Passo Croce d’Aune. At the pass there is a large car park, near the Park information point.
